We at York Christian Fellowship believe that God has been
restoring the Church over the centuries beginning with the
Protestant Reformation down to our day. Many areas of Church
truth and experience have already been restored, such as the
gifts of the spirit, laying on of hands, and apostolic and
prophetic ministry. In the past 10 years or so God has been
putting His finger on the area of church government and
church order – basically, the way we “do” church. Aligning
our church services and gatherings with the New Testament
mandate is absolutely necessary in these last days,
particularly for the Church in the west, which has become
secularized and synthesized by worldly elements in the
culture that have been adopted as acceptable practice.
Either the Bible reveals God’s truth about the church and
God’s purpose and God’s plan for the Body of Christ or it
doesn’t. It isn’t both the world’s way and the Lord’s way.
What we have not seen clearly is that the Body of Christ is
a singular highly specific living organism made up of
individual living members who have irreplaceable and
singular functions in the life of the Body. It is not like
any other group or organization, or corporation, or
governmental body anywhere else in human history.
The enemy of God’s purpose in the earth has known that if
the Church were to continue to preserve the
institutionalized characteristics of worldly organizations
originating with Roman Catholicism, then the people of God
will regard the Church as simply an add-on to their
religious lives and relegate the work of the church to a
select few professionals or clergy to do the work of
ministry. The result: a weak and sickly church with many
shipwrecking their faith.
The leadership team at York Christian Fellowship is
committed to the reformation and restoration of the fully
functioning Church in the home. We believe that by
eliminating clericalism in the church and empowering each
saint of God, the Holy Spirit will have the cooperation He
needs from His people to accomplish the end-time task of
bringing the Church of God in the earth to a place of true
godly character, unity, and power to administrate His
kingdom.
Join us as we “press toward the mark for the prize
of the
high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
